Lindsay has been a member of Stroller Strides for nearly a year with her adorable sidekick, Levi. She is also a Running Mama, working toward completing a 5K in June. Lindsay has overcome a MAJOR hurdle to get where she is today in her fitness, you have to click below to see what I mean! Talk about motivated! Lindsay is an incredibly hard worker and inspires everyone around her. She has made great strides in fitness, motherhood, and life, and we are so thankful that she is an integral part of our group!

Mom of the Month Questions:
Hometown (where you grew up): Pittsburgh, Pa
Current part of the Triangle that you live in: Holly Springs
Stroller Strides Member since: June 2015
Members of your Family: Our little family consists of my husband Joel, son Levi, and me
Tell us about your children: Levi is my sonshine, he is a sweet and hilarious kid who keeps me on my toes with his 3 year old boundary testing.
Current/previous Career: Social services with an Army infantry battalion and military child specialist
What was your childhood ambition? I've always wanted to be a mom
What does motherhood mean to you? Motherhood means shaping and helping future generation grow. I want Levi to grow up and be the type of person who builds others up and makes his community a better place.
What is the furthest you have been from home? Europe
What has Stroller Strides and Running Mamas done for you (or meant to you)? Oh gosh. We moved to the Triangle when Levi was 6 months old and I didn't know anyone. Slowly I made friends but I really feel like I found my village when I joined SS.
As for Running Mamas, very few of my newer friends know this but a few years ago I had a complicated injury to the nerves in my foot and couldn't walk for a year. Once I was hooked onto SS I decided to try Running Mamas and prove to myself that I can do anything.
What is your favorite exercise? Anything with abs
What is your proudest moment? I can't come up with one specific moment but I am proud of all the little moments where I left someone better than how I found them.
What are three of your favorite things (besides your family!)? I love the beach, delicious food, and football (go Steelers!)
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us or makes you unique. I've been a vegetarian for 21 years
If we asked your spouse what they think your best qualities are, what would they say? I actually asked Joel because I wasn't sure what he would say. His answer was, "You are kind and caring, always making sure others are taken care of."
What advice would you give to moms looking to get back into shape? Find what works for you. Being a mom is tough and working out shouldn't add to your stress. SS works for me because I get a great work out and Levi has fun. We both look forward to "stroller class"!
