Carolyn and her sweet sidekick, Quinn, have been dedicated Stroller Striders since March of 2017. They regularly attend classes and on top of that Carolyn has been doing our Sunday evening Fit4Baby classes for the last few months! If you want to see a super-strong mama, look no further than Carolyn!
Carolyn is extremely hard working and is an inspiration to everyone around her. She has made great strides in fitness, motherhood, and life, and we are so thankful that she is an integral part of Our Village!
Join us in congratulating Carolyn and read on to get to know her a little better!

Members of your Family:
My husband, 2-year-old Quinn, 2 cats and baby boy due May 28!
Tell us about your child:
Quinn is my tiny best friend who keeps me on my toes and doesn't miss ANYTHING. She is entertaining, exhausting & very nurturing. We are very excited to see what she will be like as a big sister.
I was a preschool teacher for several years before moving to Apex. I have spent the last year staying at home with Quinn.
What was your childhood ambition?
I think I always wanted to be a teacher.
What does motherhood mean to you?
It is definitely a combination between cherishing the fleeting & sweet moments and surviving the crazy ones. Another amazing part of motherhood has been finding and becoming friends with other mothers who I can relate to :)
What is the furthest you have been from home?? Australia!
What has FIT4MOM and Stroller Strides done for you (or meant to you)?
Physically, FIT4MOM has been amazing for me! I was never able to consistently work out post-baby until I found stroller strides, and now I love all of the class location options and it has totally just become a part of our weekly routine! I also love the fit4baby classes, it is nice to have a little adult only workout time since solo runs have been happening less and less lately! Socially, stroller strides is also awesome. I love meeting and becoming friends with the other moms and Quinn loves seeing her friends and playing every day after stroller strides!
What is your favorite exercise?
Curls with the resistance band or tricep dips
What is your proudest moment?
When Quinn was born!
What are three of your favorite things (besides your family!)?
traveling (especially to visit friends/family), listening to podcasts while running/walking (or honestly sometimes while sitting on the couch during Quinn's nap) & chocolate.
If we asked your spouse what they think your best qualities are, what would they say? "compassionate, empathetic, driven and family-oriented"
What advice would you give to moms looking to get back into shape? That it is so different than before having children! For me, it is consistency with the time I do have to work out. I used to get so discouraged when I would miss a workout or two, but now I try to think big picture. Missing a few workouts isn't a big deal compared to the amount of workouts I DO get to. Looking at it over a long period of time has been motivating for me!
